Saudi Arabia and Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen have escalated their conflict, trading cross-border strikes that have raised concerns over global oil supplies.

The Houthis claim to have shot down a Saudi F-15 fighter jet on Wednesday, while Saudi authorities report that more than 80 people were wounded in the latest round of attacks. The first death attributed to Houthi drone strikes since fighting intensified last week was reported by Saudi Arabia's civil defense.

Yemeni civilians are fleeing the conflict by boat across the Red Sea, with over 100,000 displaced by the latest fighting, according to the International Organization for Migration.
