Houthi Rebels Strike Saudi Aramco Oil Facilities in Red Sea
The conflict in the Middle East has escalated as Houthi rebels attacked Saudi Aramco oil facilities in the Jizan and Yanbu regions of the Red Sea with drones and missiles.
The attacks, which resumed after a four-year ceasefire, have created uncertainty in the region and affected global hydrocarbon trade, causing oil prices to temporarily rise above $100 per barrel.
Houthi rebels had threatened to escalate their attacks in the coming days, announcing their intention to cut off traffic in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden for ships with Saudi, Israeli, and American interests.
The Aramco complex in Jazan is reportedly on fire following a suspected 5-missile strike by Houthis.
