Houthi Rebels Strike Saudi Capital and Oil Facilities
Saudi Arabia was hit by strikes from Yemen-based Houthi rebels on Saturday, targeting 'sensitive sites' in Riyadh and oil facilities in Yanbu. The Houthis claimed to have carried out two successful military operations using ballistic and cruise missiles and drones.
The attacks were reportedly in retaliation for recent Saudi attacks on the Yemeni capital Sana'a. A Houthi military spokesman said the strikes targeted sensitive sites in Riyadh, as well as Aramco facilities in Yanbu.
Earlier in the day, a blaze broke out at a fuel depot near King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, and residents reported hearing explosions in the vicinity following overnight warnings by Saudi authorities of a 'hostile aerial threat'. The Saudi government has not yet confirmed the blasts.
