Houthi Rebels Target Saudi Oil Facilities Amid Escalating Mideast Tensions
The Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen launched a missile and drone attack on Saudi Arabia's oil facilities, escalating tensions in the Middle East. The targets included sites operated by Aramco in Jizan and Yanbu.
In a video statement, military spokesman Yahya Saree said the rebels were responding to what they saw as a 'dangerous escalation' by Saudi Arabia, which had struck Houthi targets in Yemen on Friday.
The attack comes amid renewed hostilities between the US and Iran. The US has been carrying out strikes against Iranian targets, while Iran has responded with attacks on US bases.
