Houthis Accuse Saudi Arabia of Launching Dozens of Strikes on Sanaa
The conflict in Yemen escalated further as the Houthi rebels accused Saudi Arabia of launching dozens of strikes on the capital city Sanaa. The Houthis' Al-Masirah TV reported that 'Saudi enemy aircraft' hit Sanaa with 26 strikes, although details on targets or casualties were not provided.
The clashes are part of a broader conflict between the Houthi-backed government and the internationally recognized government backed by Saudi Arabia. The Houthis have launched attacks on oil facilities in Saudi Arabia in recent weeks as part of the war, which has intensified since July when fighting reignited after a four-year truce.
In neighboring Saudi Arabia, flames and smoke were seen rising from an Aramco facility south of Riyadh, although the circumstances remained unclear. The Houthis have claimed several attacks on facilities belonging to Aramco in recent months.
