Houthis Accuse Saudis of Airstrikes on Yemen Capital Amid Escalating Conflict
A Saudi-led coalition launched dozens of airstrikes on Sanaa, the capital of Yemen, according to Houthi officials. The attacks were part of a larger conflict that has been ongoing since July, when renewed fighting broke out between the Houthis and the internationally recognized government.
The Houthis have accused Saudi Arabia of launching strikes on their territory, including on oil facilities in the kingdom. In response, the Houthi-affiliated channel Al-Masirah TV reported that 'Saudi enemy aircraft' hit Sanaa with 26 strikes.
Fighting has intensified in recent days, with both sides trading strikes and casualties mounting. The battle for Taiz city has been particularly fierce, with dozens of combatants killed on Friday alone. The Houthi's have yet to wrest control of the city from government forces.
