Houthis Claim Attack on Saudi Oil Facility with Ballistic Missiles
A major oil facility in Saudi Arabia was attacked by Yemen's Houthis using ballistic missiles and drones, according to their claim. The attack came after a large column of smoke and flames were seen rising over an Aramco refinery on Saturday, prompting firefighters to respond to the blaze.
The Houthis' spokesperson, Yahya Saree, said that around 60 airstrikes had been carried out against Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen over the past 24 hours. He claimed that the attacks were in response to these airstrikes and caused fires at the targeted facility.
Saudi authorities and Aramco have not yet issued a statement on the cause of the fire, but the Houthis' claim is likely to raise tensions between Saudi Arabia and Yemen.
