Houthis Claim Ballistic Missile Attack on Saudi Oil Tanker

The Houthi group in Yemen has claimed to have targeted a Saudi oil tanker with ballistic missiles, forcing it to turn back. According to Yahya Saree, the Houthi military spokesman, the tanker, NCC GHAZAL, had ignored repeated warnings before being hit with multiple ballistic missiles. The attack allegedly occurred as part of a maritime navigation ban imposed by the Houthis on Saudi Arabia in response to what they describe as a blockade on areas under their control in Yemen.

The Houthi group has also claimed to have targeted two other Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea with ballistic missiles and drones, alleging that these attacks caused fires aboard the vessels. The Saudi authorities have vowed to take necessary measures to protect their vessels.
