Houthis Claim Drone Strikes on Saudi Airport, Oil Facility
The Houthi group in Yemen has claimed responsibility for drone attacks on an airport and oil facility in Saudi Arabia's southern region of Najran. According to a statement by Yahya Saree, the Houthi military spokesperson, two drone strikes were launched: one targeting a 'sensitive target' at Najran airport, and the other hitting a facility belonging to Aramco.
The group claimed that both attacks 'achieved their objectives,' but did not provide further details on possible casualties or damage. The strikes were reportedly carried out in response to what the Houthis described as Saudi drone incursions into Yemen's northern province of Saada, a Houthi stronghold bordering Saudi Arabia.
The escalation comes amid tensions between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, Yemeni government forces have carried out 81 military operations against Houthi positions over the past 24 hours, targeting members and positions along multiple frontlines.
