Houthis Claim Responsibility for Aramco Drone Strike in Jizan
Yemen's Houthi movement, also known as Ansar Allah, has claimed responsibility for an attack on a Saudi Aramco oil refinery in Jizan. According to their military spokesperson, the group used a drone to strike the facility, which they described as 'accurate'. This attack was reportedly carried out in response to what the Houthis see as Saudi Arabia's violation of Yemeni airspace using unmanned aerial vehicles.
The incident occurred on August 9, with Saudi Arabia's Energy Ministry confirming that a fire broke out at an Aramco facility in Jizan. However, no official cause was given for the blaze, and it is unclear whether the Houthis' claim is accurate.
