Houthis Claim Responsibility for Drone Strike on Saudi Oil Refinery

The Yemeni Houthi group claimed responsibility for a drone strike on Saudi Aramco's oil refinery in Jazan, southwestern Saudi Arabia. According to Yahya Saria, the group's spokesman, the attack was carried out using a drone. The incident occurred early morning on August 9, and a fire broke out at the refinery. However, the Saudi Ministry of Energy reported that the fire was quickly extinguished, and there were no casualties.

The Jazan refinery has a processing capacity of 400,000 barrels of oil per day. This is not the first time the Houthis have targeted Aramco facilities in Jazan; they have also attacked the Yanbu oil export hub on the Red Sea coast.
