Houthis Claim Responsibility for Fresh Attacks on Saudi Oil Facilities
The Houthi militia in Yemen has claimed responsibility for fresh attacks on targets in Saudi Arabia, including two sites belonging to state oil giant Saudi Aramco. The group's spokesman stated that they targeted Aramco facilities in Riyadh and the Khurais area with drones and ballistic missiles.
The spokesperson cited the Houthi's response to strikes on the Yemeni capital Sana'a and several provinces as justification for the attacks. However, there is no independent confirmation from Aramco that the facilities were hit.
The escalating conflict in Yemen has drawn in neighboring countries, including Saudi Arabia, Iran, Israel, and the United States. The Houthi's increased attacks on oil facilities and pipelines have put pressure on Riyadh at a time when the kingdom is already dealing with the fallout from its war with Iran.
