Houthis Claim Sanaa Bombed as Fire Rages Through Aramco Facility
Yemen's Houthi rebels claim that their capital city, Sanaa, was bombed on October 3rd at 15:40h. The Houthi media office accused Saudi Arabia of carrying out the attacks, but offered no evidence for the claim. Residents of Sanaa reported hearing three loud explosions.
Saudi authorities have not yet commented on the allegations. However, in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, a fire broke out at an oil facility owned by Aramco, sending thick black smoke over the city.
The cause of the fire is unknown, and authorities have stepped up security in the area. Oil facilities in Saudi Arabia have recently been targeted by drone and missile attacks carried out by Yemen's Houthis and Iran-backed militias in Iraq.
