The Houthis have captured Mokha, a port city in Yemen about 80 kilometers from the Bab el-Mandeb strait.

This strategic location allows them to threaten oil tankers sailing south from Saudi Arabia's Red Sea terminals towards Asian buyers.

The capture is significant because it brings the Houthis closer to a critical passage between the Indian Ocean and the Red Sea, where millions of barrels of crude are transported daily.
