Houthis Deny Medina Power Station Attack Amid Ongoing Yemen Conflict
The Saudi-led coalition accused Yemen's Houthi group of striking a power station in Medina, a holy city in Saudi Arabia. The coalition claims that a drone targeted the Taibah electricity distribution station on Tuesday at 5:11 am, which supplies power to the Prophet's Mosque.
Major General Turki al-Maliki said that an investigation confirmed the involvement of the Houthi militia in planning and executing the attack. He stated that the facility was 'a civilian facility providing electricity to the Prophet's Mosque' and that the incident is a continuation of the extremist militia's attempts to target Islamic holy sites.
The Houthi group denied the allegations, calling them 'a lie' to further back previous claims. The group has previously rejected accusations of targeting Mecca in mid-September, stating that their operations target oil facilities and military bases, not sacred sites.
