Houthis Deny Responsibility for Drone Strike Near Mecca
Saudi Arabia reported shooting down a Houthi drone on the outskirts of Mecca, the holy Islamic city. The incident occurred on Tuesday, September 15, according to reports from CNN and UNN.
This is reportedly the first Houthi UAV strike on the city in nearly 10 years. In 2017, an attack involving ballistic missiles was intercepted near the city.
The Houthis have denied any involvement in the attack, claiming that their targets were Saudi oil facilities and military bases 'far from the holy sites.'
