Houthi rebels in Yemen claimed responsibility for shooting down a Turkish-made Bayraktar Akıncı armed reconnaissance drone operated by Saudi Arabia on Sunday. The incident occurred over Al Jawf Governorate, just one day after the Houthis announced missile and drone strikes on Saudi oil facilities in Jizan.

According to Houthi military spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree, the group downed the drone while it was carrying out 'hostile operations.'

Saudi Arabia has not publicly commented on the claim, and it has not been independently verified. The reported incident follows renewed cross-border attacks after the Houthis said they targeted Saudi energy infrastructure in response to Saudi airstrikes on the strategic Red Sea port city of Hodeida.
