Houthis Escalate Attacks on Saudi Arabia Amid Ongoing Conflict
Yemen's Houthi militia has escalated its attacks on Saudi Arabia, launching dozens of ballistic missiles and drones against sensitive targets in Riyadh and oil facilities in Yanbu. The group claims this is in response to over 700 Saudi airstrikes on Yemen over the past days.
The attacks triggered large fires, with a fuel tank at Riyadh airport catching fire and disrupting flight takeoffs and landings for an hour. There was no immediate official comment on the cause of the blaze.
Saudi Arabia supports Yemen's internationally recognized government in its conflict with the Houthis, which has been ongoing for over a decade. The Houthi's have gained access to the Bab al-Mandab Strait after seizing the western coast of Yemen earlier this month.
