Houthis Fire at Saudi Oil Facilities in Escalating US-Iran War
The war between the US and Iran has escalated as Houthi forces in Yemen fired missiles and drones at two of Saudi Arabia's most important oil facilities on the Red Sea.
The attack came after a truce collapsed this month, following an Iranian plane's attempted landing in Sanaa airport. The Houthis declared a naval blockade of Saudi Arabia last Monday, prompting Saudi air strikes on Houthi-held Hodeidah on Friday.
Houthi forces then launched the attacks on facilities belonging to Saudi state oil giant Aramco in Jizan and Yanbu on Sunday. In Yanbu, two ballistic missiles aimed at oil installations were intercepted by a Patriot battery operated in Saudi Arabia by the Greek military under an agreement with Riyadh.
