Silver Prices Stabilize at $58.49 Amid Hawkish Fed Comments and Trade Barriers

Silver prices stabilized at $58.49 per ounce after a volatile week, but the market remains under pressure from conflicting forces.

The Federal Reserve's hawkish comments have weighed on silver prices, amplified by a resilient dollar and rising real yields.

India's 15% import duty hike in May has also cooled physical demand, while China's solar sector is experiencing a temporary saturation due to 'thrifting', where manufacturers cut metal content per cell when prices climb above $100 per ounce.

The silver market remains fundamentally undersupplied, with the World Silver Survey 2026 projecting a sixth consecutive deficit year and supply diverging from demand by approximately 46.3 million ounces.
