Houthis Launch Attacks on Saudi Oil Refinery and Air Base
The Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen have launched attacks on Saudi Aramco's Yanbu refinery and the Khamis Mushait Air Base in Saudi Arabia, according to a claim by Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree.
The attacks were allegedly carried out in retaliation for over 450 airstrikes by Saudi warplanes on various locations across Yemen this week, including Taiz, Lahj, Al Jawf, Hajjah, Marib, Saada, and Al Bayda.
Saree vowed to continue targeting areas inside Saudi Arabia in response to further attacks.
The conflict between the Houthis and Saudi-backed forces has intensified across several fronts since July 2022, with over 100,000 people displaced within Yemen and thousands more fleeing to Djibouti.
