Houthis Launch Devastating Attacks on Saudi Oil Facilities

Saudi Arabia has vowed to 'respond firmly' after Houthi rebels attacked five cities across the country, including oil facilities and an airbase. The Iran-backed group said it was targeting state-backed Aramco oil facilities.

The attacks sparked fires at some energy facilities in the south, forcing them to shut down temporarily. A massive fireball could be seen rising from a truck at the Al-Wadiah border crossing on the Saudi-Yemen border, according to images released by the Houthis.

The Houthi group has threatened to go further, saying it will soon announce a broader military campaign deep inside Saudi Arabia. The national average for regular gas is now $4.15 per gallon in the US, according to AAA, after oil prices spiked following the attacks.
