Houthis Launch Direct Attack on Riyadh, Targeting Saudi Oil Exports

An airborne attack targeted jet-fuel storage at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia's capital, on Saturday. This marks the first direct assault on Riyadh in months as Yemen's Houthi rebels squeeze the kingdom's Red Sea route for its oil exports.

Black smoke could be seen at the airport following the strike, which hit jet fuel facilities at the airfield. Three officials with knowledge of the incident confirmed this, but it is unclear whether a drone or missile caused the damage.

The Saudi government has not commented on the attack, and no group has claimed responsibility yet. However, Iran and its allies have been seeking ways to slow Saudi Arabia's exports to increase pressure on the US and global economy.
