Houthis Launch Drone Attack on Saudi Oil Facility Amid Escalating Tensions

A drone attack by Yemen's Houthi rebels on an Aramco oil facility in Saudi Arabia is the latest escalation in the ongoing conflict. According to Yahya Saree, a military spokesperson for the Houthis, the target was an Aramco refinery in the city of Jazan.

The attack was in response to Saudi drones breaching Yemen's airspace over the provinces of Hajjah and Saada, said Saree. However, there is no immediate confirmation from the Houthis on the impact or any casualties from the attack.

Meanwhile, Iran has made new demands regarding the restart of negotiations with the US, including an end to 'violations' of a memorandum of understanding between the two countries.

Iran's foreign minister Abbas Araghchi said that negotiations cannot resume until these conditions are met. He also mentioned that talks with Oman about 'new maritime routes' through the Strait of Hormuz are in the final stages, but emphasized that this does not mean the strait will reopen immediately.
