Houthis Launch Drone Strike on Saudi Aramco Refinery
The Houthi military spokesperson, Yahya Saree, claimed that his group successfully targeted an oil facility belonging to Saudi Aramco on the western coast of Saudi Arabia along the Red Sea. The refinery in Jizan was hit with a drone strike, according to Saree.
The attack was reportedly a response to Saudi Arabia's use of drones to violate Yemen's airspace over the northwestern provinces of Saada and Hajjah. This is not the first time the Houthis have claimed responsibility for targeting Saudi Aramco facilities.
Saudi Arabia's Energy Ministry had earlier announced that a fire at an Aramco facility in Jizan had been extinguished, but did not provide any information on the cause of the blaze.
