Houthis Launch Missile and Drone Attacks on Saudi Aramco Facilities
The Houthi group in Yemen has claimed responsibility for ballistic missile and drone attacks on Saudi Aramco facilities in Riyadh and Khurais, saying the strikes caused large fires. In a video statement, Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree said the operations were successful and precise, with the goal of targeting Saudi oil infrastructure.
The attacks come as Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad al-Alimi declared comprehensive military operations against the Houthi group. Al-Alimi stated that the aim is to recapture territory under Houthi control.
The Houthis claim that the strikes were in response to Saudi airstrikes and missile attacks, which they say have totaled 1,460 since the escalation began. The group has threatened further attacks against Saudi sites and oil facilities until the attacks stop and what they describe as a 'blockade' on Yemen is lifted.
