The Houthis, backed by Iran, have launched a series of strikes against targets in Saudi Arabia, according to the rebel media outlet Ansarollah. The attacks occurred on September 8 as part of an ongoing offensive to seize territory near the Bab al-Mandab Strait.

Ansarollah reported that Yemeni drones and missiles pounded Saudi enemy targets, including Abha International Airport, King Khalid air base, and facilities belonging to Aramco in Abha and Jizan. The Saudi government has not commented on the report yet.

The conflict near the Red Sea coast has resulted in over 300 deaths and displaced hundreds of families as the Houthis attempt to capture land bordering the Bab al-Mandab Strait. This strategic location is crucial for Saudi oil exports, which have become vital due to Tehran's blockade of the Strait of Hormuz since the start of the US-Iran war.

A prison strike on September 7 killed 11 people and left 20 inmates missing under the rubble, according to Hassan Saboula, director-general of civil defence in Jawf province. The Saba news agency, affiliated with the Houthi movement, reported that a child visiting the facility was among the dead.
