Houthis Strike Saudi Aramco's Jazan Refinery for Third Time in Two Weeks
The Iran-aligned Houthi group has claimed to have targeted Saudi Aramco's Jazan oil refinery on the Red Sea coast in southwest Saudi Arabia. This is reportedly the third attack at the facility in two weeks, amid escalating hostilities in the region and a deadlock in US-Iran talks.
A military source from the Houthi forces stated that 'a number of drones' were used in the strike, which was precise according to the source. The refinery was targeted 'in response to the violation of Yemeni airspace over the Saada and Hajjah governorates.'
The Jazan refinery is a 400-barrels-per-day facility that was previously damaged by Houthi attacks in July, causing it to be closed at the end of the month. The refinery's closure has led to increased security risks for oil and fuel flows from the Middle East.
