Houthis Strike Saudi Oil Facilities on Red Sea Coast
The Houthi movement in Yemen launched strikes on Saudi oil installations at two Red Sea ports on Saturday, according to Reuters.
Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree claimed the group targeted Aramco facilities in Jazan and Yanbu. Two Asia-based trade sources reported possible damage at fuel and oil storage sites in Jazan.
The Saudi-led coalition responded with airstrikes on Houthi missile launch sites, drone bases, and weapons depots in Marib and al-Jawf provinces, as per Yemeni officials who spoke to Reuters. This escalation comes after the Houthis declared a naval blockade on Saudi Arabia last week, warning that all Saudi oil and vital infrastructure would be considered targets if Riyadh escalated its involvement.
