Houthis Target Saudi Capital Amid Escalating Mideast Tensions
Saudi Arabia confirmed that Yemen's Houthi rebels attempted to attack its capital, Riyadh, with a ballistic missile on Saturday. The attack was intercepted by Saudi defenses.
The Houthis claimed they targeted 'sensitive sites' in Riyadh and facilities of the Saudi oil giant Aramco in Yanbu, causing 'massive fires', but this has not been independently verified.
Iran's Supreme National Security Council head, Mohsen Rezaei, said Tehran has sent Washington its conditions for ending the war via Qatar. These include ending hostilities on all fronts, releasing seized assets, and lifting the U.S. naval blockade of Iranian ports.
