ICE Expands Global Gas and Power Markets with New Derivatives
The Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) has expanded its global gas and power markets by launching new derivatives, including JKM LNG options, LNG Balmo freight futures, and UK base electricity options.
The new JKM LNG options will allow customers to manage Asian gas price risk at a specific point in time. This complements ICE's existing JKM LNG (Platts) average price options, which are used to manage exposure that accumulates over the month.
The JKM is the benchmark for spot liquefied natural gas cargoes in Asia. The new options will settle against the JKM price.
