IGL hikes CNG prices by Rs 3.89/kg as LNG costs surge
Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has increased compressed natural gas (CNG) prices by Rs 3.89 per kg across Delhi-NCR, citing a sharp rise in the cost of imported liquefied natural gas (LNG). The price hike comes into effect on Saturday and will now see CNG costing Rs 86.98 per kg in Delhi.
IGL has raised prices to Rs 95.59 per kg in Noida and Ghaziabad, Rs 95.47 per kg in Meerut, and Rs 92.01 per kg in Gurugram. This marks the fifth CNG price hike by IGL this year and the first since May.
The increase comes as global LNG prices have surged due to renewed tensions in West Asia, disrupting cargo movements through the Strait of Hormuz. International LNG prices have nearly doubled since July compared with levels prevailing before the conflict.
