Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL) announced on Saturday that Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) prices will increase by Rs 3.89 per kg in Delhi and other cities, due to a sharp rise in international liquefied natural gas (LNG) prices.

The revised rates come into effect from August 29, with CNG now costing Rs 86.98 per kg in Delhi. In Noida and Ghaziabad, the price will be Rs 95.59 per kg, while Gurugram consumers will pay Rs 92.01 per kg.

The increase is the fifth this year, following a global rise in energy prices amid the Middle East conflict, which has continued for almost six months. Crude prices have risen above $90 per barrel, but remain below the earlier peak of $126 per barrel recorded during the previous phase of the conflict.
