Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL) raised compressed natural gas prices across its geographical areas by 4.6% due to a surge in spot input gas prices.

The new price of CNG in Delhi will be Rs 86.98 per kilogram, up from the previous rate of Rs 83.09.

IGL cited the re-escalation of the West Asia crisis and its impact on LNG cargo movements through the Strait of Hormuz as a reason for the price increase.

The company stated that global LNG prices have nearly doubled compared to pre-crisis levels, making it necessary to adjust CNG prices to partially offset the increase in input gas cost.
