Ron Haase, a CropWatcher from Iroquois County in Illinois, reported damage to his farm due to storms that hit last week. The areas affected included green snap in some cornfields and flipped wagons.

The weather started with rain on September 20 and 21, with field totals ranging from 1.15 to 1.25 inches. Some farmers have begun harvesting dry corn over the past few days, but most local cornfields have reached R6 physiological maturity and are waiting for drying down. Soybean fields in the area range from R7 to R8 maturity.

The local closing prices for September 24 were $4.90 for nearby corn, $4.85 for new-crop '27 corn, $12.85 for nearby soybeans, and $12.35 for new-crop '27 soybeans.
