Imperial Oil Ltd., a Calgary-based company, has reported its second-quarter profit for 2026. The company earned $2.2 billion or $4.52 per diluted share for the quarter ending June 30, up from a profit of $949 million or $1.86 per diluted share in the same period last year.

The revenue and other income totalled $16.06 billion, an increase from $11.23 billion in the second quarter of 2025. Imperial Oil's upstream production averaged 414,000 gross oil-equivalent barrels per day, compared to 427,000 a year earlier. However, refinery throughput was down at 331,000 barrels per day, from 376,000 barrels per day in the same period last year.

The company has also revised its refinery throughput guidance for 2026 downwards, citing unplanned downtime and rail logistics hurdles at Strathcona. The new range is between 370,000 to 380,000 barrels per day, down from the previous estimate of 395,000 to 405,000 barrels per day.
