India Cuts LPG Refill Booking Interval to 25 Days Amid Improved Supply Conditions

The Indian government has reduced the booking interval for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) refills from 45 to 25 days, according to Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Suresh Gopi.

This change will apply uniformly to LPG consumers in both urban and rural areas, effective immediately. The decision was made due to the present LPG supply position and a considerable reduction in refill backlogs following the conflict in the Middle East in February 2026.

The Centre had initially set a 25-day booking interval for urban areas and 45 days for rural areas as a temporary demand management measure during the conflict. However, with improved supply conditions, the Ministry has decided to revise this policy.
