Russia Stands Firm on Oil Sales to India Amid US Tariff Threats

Russia remains committed to supplying oil to India despite US threats of tariffs. Russia's Ambassador to India, Denis Alipov, said that his country will continue to be a key crude oil supplier to India.

India has become the single-biggest buyer of Russian oil in recent years after other major importers like the US, UK, and EU banned Russian oil imports following the invasion of Ukraine. The US Congress is trying to pass a bill that would allow President Donald Trump to impose 100% tariffs on countries importing Russian oil and gas.

However, analysts say it's unlikely that the bill passes in the House before the mid-term elections in November due to disagreements among Republicans and concerns among Democrats.

Russia's Ambassador Alipov criticized the planned US legislation, saying that those who impose sanctions and tariffs have taken the path of 'pressure tactics instead of honest cooperation.'
