India Ensures Uninterrupted LPG, PNG Supply Amid Strait of Hormuz Uncertainties

The Indian government has assured that it is maintaining a 100% supply of LPG, PNG, and CNG despite global uncertainties affecting the Strait of Hormuz. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas stated that adequate stocks of petrol, diesel, and LPG are available across the country with no dry-outs reported at any LPG distributorships. This includes an increase in online LPG bookings to 98%.

The ministry also highlighted that over 4 lakh PNG connections have been activated since March, while nearly 4.88 lakh more consumers have registered for new connections. Additionally, the government has sold over 1 lakh 31 thousand metric tonnes of Commercial LPG since 14th of last month and over 5 kg Free Trade LPG cylinders worth more than 14 lakh rupees.

The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways stated that all Indian seafarers in the region are safe, with over 2 thousand 200 repatriated so far. Meanwhile, the Ministry of External Affairs said that Indian missions across West Asia remain on high alert, operating round-the-clock helplines and extending assistance to citizens.
