India Extends LPG Refill Gap Amid Global Energy Crisis, Enforces OTP-Based Delivery
A global energy crisis fueled by the US-Israel-Iran war has led to a major shift in LPG gas cylinder rules in India. The government has extended the refill gap from 21 days to 25 and 45 days for urban and rural areas, respectively.
Oil marketing companies like Indian Oil, BPCL, and HPCL have issued advisories for customers on seamless LPG delivery. A new rule makes OTP-based delivery mandatory for Indane, Bharat, and HP gas cylinders.
Clients without an OTP at the time of delivery will not receive their cylinder handover. The Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas reports that online LPG bookings have increased to 99% since the war began.
