India Eyes UAE as Key Partner in Diversifying Energy Supplies

India is seeking to strengthen its energy security and diversify its sources of imported fuel by exploring a larger role for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in supplying liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG).

The discussions between India and the UAE include the possibility of developing a subsea natural-gas pipeline connecting the two countries.

A direct pipeline connection could potentially provide an additional route for natural-gas supplies, complementing existing LNG import infrastructure.

The proposed subsea pipeline is still under study, with its development timeline, capacity, and final configuration dependent on the outcome of feasibility assessments and government-level discussions.
