India Gold Prices Dip Amid Geopolitical Uncertainty, Silver Rises
Gold prices in India declined slightly on Friday, September 18, due to ongoing geopolitical uncertainty. In contrast, silver prices edged higher domestically as investors tracked global economic conditions and monetary policy expectations.
The international gold market saw a slight increase, with spot gold rising 0.2% to $4,346.65 per ounce. However, US gold futures decreased by 0.3% to $4,385.70.
The decline in oil prices and the softer US dollar provided some support to gold prices internationally. In India, both 24-karat and 22-karat gold rates saw a marginal decrease across several major cities, while silver prices recorded a slight increase.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold traded 0.34% lower at ₹1,53,190 per 10 grams, while silver futures were around 0.24% higher at ₹2,38,650 per kg.
