India Keeps Fuel Prices Unchanged Despite Crude Oil Price Drop
The Indian government has maintained fuel prices unchanged on July 27, 2026, as global crude oil prices have dropped sharply. Petrol and diesel prices across India remain at their current levels, despite four previous price hikes since May 15.
NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Ashok Lahiri stated that fuel prices will only be revised when there is confidence that the decline in international crude oil prices is stable.
The last price revision occurred on May 25, with petrol and diesel increasing by Rs 2.61 per litre and Rs 2.71 per litre respectively. At present, petrol costs Rs 102.12 per litre in Delhi and Rs 113.51 in Kolkata.
