India and Mauritius have strengthened their energy partnership with a five-year agreement that will see Indian Oil Corporation supply the island nation's entire import requirement of petrol, diesel, and aviation turbine fuel.

The long-term sales and purchase agreement between IOC and Mauritius' State Trading Corporation aims to provide Mauritius with assured supplies and reduce its exposure to price volatility.

Under the pact, India will emerge as a major fuel supplier in the Indian Ocean region, building on its reputation as a reliable energy partner. The deal also institutionalized the broader energy relationship between India and Mauritius, covering conventional fuels and emerging areas such as biofuels.
