Indian Bullion Market Sees Strong Gains as Gold and Silver Prices Surge

The bullion market in India continued its upward trend on Sunday, August 9, with gold and silver prices rising significantly. Gold prices increased by Rs 2,290 to Rs 2,500 per 10 grams across most major markets, excluding Chennai, where the price rose by Rs 1,510 to Rs 1,650 per 10 grams.

Spot silver also saw a sharp rise of up to Rs 5,100 per kilogram during early trading. The prices of gold and silver have been rising due to continued strength in international markets.

On a weekly basis, both gold and silver recorded strong gains, with the price of 24-carat gold climbing by as much as Rs 8,180 per 10 grams and that of 22-carat gold increasing by up to Rs 7,600 per 10 grams. Silver prices also advanced amid firm global market cues, gaining as much as Rs 10,000 per kilogram on a weekly basis.
