Indian Equities Gain as Crude Oil Prices Retreat
Indian equities started Wednesday, September 23, on a positive note, with both the Nifty 50 and Sensex gaining after crude oil prices declined.
The Nifty 50 traded at 23,410.05, up 0.36%, while the Sensex rose 0.35% to 74,789.77.
Lower crude oil prices provided some relief for India's import bill and inflation outlook, with Brent remaining close to the $100-per-barrel level.
The rupee was largely stable against the dollar, limiting changes in the domestic cost of dollar-denominated imports.
