Gold futures prices in India rose to Rs 1.45 lakh per 10 grams on Wednesday due to firm spot demand, according to market analysts.

The prices of gold futures contracts for October delivery traded higher by Rs 1,151, or 0.8 percent, at Rs 1,45,450 per 10 grams on the Multi Commodity Exchange in a business turnover of 784 lots.

This increase was largely driven by speculators creating fresh positions in response to the growing demand for gold.

Globally, gold futures also rose 1.53 percent to USD 4,140.48 per ounce in New York, further contributing to the upward trend in Indian prices.
