The prices of gold and silver remained relatively stable across major Indian cities on August 31. According to market data, 24-karat gold is considered the purest form, while 22-karat gold is more widely used for jewelry due to its strength and durability.

Market participants will continue to track global economic data, US interest rate expectations, and currency movements to gauge further direction in precious metal prices. In the retail market, Joyalukkas and Malabar Gold & Diamonds quoted 22-karat gold at ₹14,505 per gram across major Indian states.

Tanishq's 22K gold rate stood at ₹14,550 per gram, while Malabar's 24-carat gold rate was ₹15,824 per gram. Tanishq's 24-carat gold rate was estimated to be ₹15,873 per gram based on the prevailing purity premium over 22-karat gold.

The prices of silver were also consistent across major cities, with Delhi and Mumbai recording a price of ₹25,410 per 100 grams. The silver rates in other cities, including Bengaluru, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Chennai, remained the same at ₹2,54,100 per kilogram.
