Indian Gold Prices Hold Steady Amid Stronger US Dollar

Gold prices in India remained largely stable on August 20, despite some strength in the US dollar. Spot gold was down 0.3% to $4,511 per ounce, while spot silver was unchanged at $67.04 per ounce. The precious metal traded in a narrow range of $19 during Thursday's session.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold was trading 0.11% higher at Rs 1,58,168 per 10 grams, while silver was up 1.36% at Rs 2,40,000 per kg.

The city-wise prices for 24-carat gold were: Delhi - Rs 1,57,830; Mumbai - Rs 1,58,240; Kolkata - Rs 1,57,890; Chennai - Rs 1,55,890; Hyderabad - Rs 1,58,490. For 22-carat gold, the prices ranged from Rs 1,44,677 to Rs 1,45,282 across these cities.
