Indian Gold Prices Reach Record High Ahead of Festive Season
Gold prices in India are reaching record levels ahead of the festive season, with 24-carat gold trading at around INR 1.48 lakh per 10 grams.
Rajeev Sharan, Head of Research at Brickwork Ratings, notes that safe-haven buying amid geopolitical tension, sticky inflation, and steady central bank purchases are supporting the metal's price.
However, demand dynamics are becoming more nuanced due to record prices, with many buyers opting for lighter pieces or digital gold instead of traditional jewellery.
The price outlook remains firm, but Sharan expects range-bound prices through the festive months, supported by seasonal buying.
